Enroll Your Child in Pre-K!

Enrollment Checklist:

✅ Pre-K is FREE for eligible students who will turn 4 years-old by August 15. Visit the Pre-K operator's website or call to find out about student eligibility.

✅ Many Pre-K operators have an online application process, and some require an in-person application and/or screening. Visit the Pre-K operator's website or call to learn more.

✅ Prepare your documents in advance, but note that some required documents may vary for each Pre-K operator. Common requirements include:

• Child’s Birth Certificate

• Child’s Social Security Card

• Parent or Guardian ID

• Proof of Residence

• Proof of Income

• Proof of Physical and Immunization Record

Income Eligibility

To qualify for First 8 Memphis Pre-K, families must meet income eligibility requirements. Priority will be given to families earning below 300% of the FPL (Federal Poverty Level).

Pre-K Attendance

Unexcused absences, tardies or early dismissals could affect your child's success in the Pre-K program.

Tips to Support Healthy Attendance

• Set a regular bedtime & morning routine.

• Talk to your child about the importance of attending school and get them excited about attending.

• If assistance is needed, visit your child’s school Family Engagement Personnel to ask about resources!

• If your child is absent, please provide your child's teacher a written excuse/note within 3 days of their return to school.
